Tour of Westerbork: to the lookout tower

Your route starts at Holiday Park Diana Heide. From here you can cycle straight into nature. In the vast Drenthe forests such as Boswachterij Hooghalen it is wonderfully quiet everywhere. The deeper you go into the forest, the more everyday life seems to disappear behind you. On your route you will find a lookout tower to view the area from above: at junction 58. When you think of the municipality of Westerbork, you automatically think of Camp Westerbork. But Westerbork is so much more. The picturesque green village has beautiful monuments including many old farms, such as the one in which the library is located, and the Cloenstee where you will find the town hall. In this green village you will also find the fifteenth-century Stephen's Church, the lower part of the tower of which even dates from the thirteenth century.
