Tour of Arrien and Junner Koeland

After a cup of coffee at Puik Ommen, put on your hiking boots. This route takes you to the Vechtdal to the east of Ommen. From this town you can walk straight into the rural countryside. First you discover the woods north of the town. In the low polder you mainly see grasslands, on the es there are still fields here and there. Have a picnic at the closed meander of the Overijsselse Vecht. Like an elongated horseshoe, this stream encloses the Junner Koeland, a former grazing area for the cows of the local farmers. The route then takes you through the woods and heathland around Arriën. You also visit Esdorp Arriën, where you pass some beautiful nineteenth-century monumental farms.
