Description
Enjoy the silence between the deciduous trees of Boswachterij Gees. This area is located a little higher than the surrounding area and therefore you are treated to picturesque views of the surrounding grasslands. You couldn't wish for a more beautiful view in Drenthe. All kinds of animals live in the forestry, such as foxes, badgers, pine martens and a variety of birds.
Havezate De Klencke
The cycle tour starts in Witteveen and from there you will be guided past an estate with a manor and five traditional farms. It is unclear exactly when the De Klencke manor was built, but it was certainly before 1558. In the twentieth century, the manor was used, among other things, as a youth hostel, teetotal house, shelter for the unemployed and even as a brothel during the Second World War. Nowadays the house is privately occupied.
