From Witteveen to Orvelte and Westerbork

As part of the Scharreveld, the Holtherzand was an extensive heathland. The pieces of land that were not worth building were left intact. These were interconnected and so the Holtherzand was a fact. You can park your car for free at Hotel Het Witte Veen. The hotel is at the start of the cycle route, making it the ideal place to review the details of your route over a cup of coffee or tea. When you return to the hotel, you can of course also enjoy a drink on the terrace. If you really want to get away from it all, you can book a room for a reasonable price.
