Cycling along the water and through Axel

You leave in a northerly direction. After Terneuzen you follow the windings of the Western Scheldt over the dike. The tour continues through the Zeeland polder landscape. Along the way you pass towns such as Hengstdijk and Vogelwaarde. One of the last places of interest is the Water Tower of Axel from 1936. With a height of over 60 meters, this is one of the highest water towers in the Netherlands. Once back in Axel, cycle past the Stadsmolen from 1750. After a fire in'50, nothing was done with the building for a long time. The mill has been in use again since 2000 and can also be used for weddings.
