In the heart of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug lies the Leusderheide, where vast heaths and open sand plains alternate with deciduous and coniferous forest. The Leusderheide has two ecoducts: ecoduct Leusderheide and ecoduct Treeker Wissel, which allow animals to safely cross busy roads so that they can enlarge their territory. Badgers, lizards and foxes, among others, frequently use the crossings. Because it is also used as a military training area, the Leusderheide has retained a large part of its original appearance. Hidden between all the greenery are beautiful estates, such as Quatre Bras. Nearly 2,000 acres of private property stretch out before you here. The estate consists mainly of forests with meadows and fields on the eastern edge. Since the construction of the N224 and the N227, the estate has been intersected by these roads. Another beautiful estate (Maarsbergen) is dominated by the castle-like country house in Maarsbergen, which was built in 1660 in the neo-Gothic style.

Landgoed De Viersprong

De Viersprong 82

Landgoed De Viersprong was built in the second half of the 19th century. The estate is located in the middle of the region and has a striking and charming appearance. The building style of the country house, the romance of the chalet that was so fashionable at the time and a landscape that can be read like a history book make De Viersprong unique.
