Tour of Veenendaal and Heuvelrug

After an overnight stay at Camping't Einde, this route takes you through the woods and over the heathland of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug. This cycle tour also leads you to the always pleasant center of Veenendaal and through the Amerongse forest. It exudes an atmosphere of old estates, thanks to the long avenues. The Amerongse forest is located on a 69 meter high mountain and is one of the oldest pieces of forest in the Utrechtse Heuvelrug. The country estate of Prattenburg is located on the edge of Veenendaal. The estate covers over 430 hectares and consists largely of forest. On the estate there is a house with a castle-like appearance, built in 1887. The estate was mentioned for the first time in a document from 1474, when it was just a farm.
