Description
Your cycle route starts in Terneuzen, where you can visit the Shell Museum. You can even see the skeleton of a bottlenose whale captured in 1758. Less industrial than the port of Rotterdam, Terneuzen offers a perfect mix of driving economic activity and a smaller area with its own personality. It is one of the youngest cities in the Netherlands and has managed to develop in a special way from a small insignificant town to the third largest port area in the Netherlands. The Terneuzen war memorial consists of pieces of granite with a bronze statue. It is dedicated to'those who fell for our freedom\\\': five men who were shot because they tried to remove explosives from the Westsluis.
