Description
Your cycling route starts in Terneuzen, where you can visit the Shell Museum. You can even see the skeleton of a bottlenose whale captured in 1758. Less industrial than the port of Rotterdam, Terneuzen offers a perfect mix of vibrant economic activity and a smaller-scale area with its own personality. It is one of the youngest cities in the Netherlands and has developed in a special way from a small insignificant town to the third port area in the Netherlands. War memorial Terneuzen consists of pieces of granite with a bronze statue. It is dedicated to 'those who fell for our freedom': five men who were shot for trying to remove explosives from the West Lock.
