Oldebroekse Heide It is never boring on the Oldebroekse Heide. As a military training area, the heath is not freely accessible everywhere, but the large and smaller sand drifts, the heath, the roughs and the woods offer a beautiful variation in the landscape. The IJssel valley is a completely different type of nature reserve. Here you will find a damp, dark and fern-rich deciduous forest, but also a blue grassland with rare plants and animals and the typical Dutch arable landscape.

Hanseatic Valley The Hanseatic Valley has high river dikes with impressive views over the IJssel. Every now and then you cycle deeper into the valley through wooded estates and past stately manors. The glorious history of the medieval Hanseatic League has left its mark in Hattem, but also in Kampen. In the twelfth and thirteenth centuries, Kampen grew considerably, mainly due to its favourable location on the IJssel.
