The Oldebroekse Heide is varied: vast moors, meadows and avenues alternate with forests. In addition to beautiful nature, this route also offers culture enthusiasts the necessary sights such as paper mills.

House Molecaten
Within five kilometers you will come across the beautiful Molecaten estate, which is graced by an old water mill and a beautiful mansion. The mill, the first paper mill in the Veluwe, was built around 1646. Huis Molecaten is located on a 150 hectare estate with a number of farms and a catering facility, in the middle of the woods. The Oldebroekse Heide, which you pass a little later, is kept open thanks to the grazing herd of heath sheep that live in the sheepfold that you encounter along the way.

The Kopermolen, an overshot watermill that grinds on the Klaarbeek, is also a paper mill. It probably dates from the eighteenth century. Before 1745, the mill was used to grind paper, after that the mill was used as a copper mill, for shoeing ship hulls and coin plates.
