There are some beautiful forests in Central Limburg. This route takes you through Waterbloem and Het Leudal. You will also pass through charming church villages such as Roggel and Neer.
Water flower
The route starts just below the former peat colony of Helenaveen. You can relax along the leafy Helenavaart, a watercourse that was constructed for the transport of peat. It is also peaceful cycling through the greenery along the Deurne Canal. Further on you drive through Waterbloem, a beautiful name for a nature reserve that consists of forest and swamps that are intersected by the Roggelse Beek. Then you will pass the multi-award winning Recreation Park De Leistert.
Down
In Roggel you pass the striking St. Peter's Church, which partly dates from the fifteenth century. Then you cycle through the Het Leudal nature reserve. Here you will find a variety of wet and dry forests. And silence! You will also pass the Leumolen here, an ancient water mill. What a beautiful spot! You get off in beautiful Neer for a stopover at Café Maneslust Biej Mieke. You drive back to the starting point through the rural area around Panningen.
