The Jeker is a small river that flows through Tongeren in Belgium to Maastricht, where it flows into the Maas. Over the centuries, the Jeker has carved out a sloping valley in which there are cozy villages with old churches. Past Tongeren you cycle back to the Netherlands through the Flemish Haspengouw. Settle down in Eijsden on the terrace of Heerlijkheid Breust for a refreshing pint and a delicious meal. You can also stay in the associated B&B. There are two beautiful Limburg castles on your route. Kasteel Eijsden has medieval origins, the current pleasure garden dates from 1636. Wijnkasteel Genoelselderen is the only wine castle in Belgium.
