Anders Utrecht: working-class neighborhoods and waterways

This cycle route starts in the historic heart of the city and takes you via the Oudegracht, along the Vaartsche Rijn to the hand-excavated Merwede Canal. Here Utrecht's industrial past meets new urban developments. Via the Leidsche Rijn you cycle through the multicultural Kanaalstraat in the Lombok district to the Zuilen district. Via the river Vecht you cycle past Fort de Klop and the walled Weerd back to the center of Utrecht. A cycle tour suitable for visitors who want to see Utrecht from a completely different side. Please note: at a number of bridges it is easier to cross than is currently indicated on the map. The map itself sometimes makes a complicated loop.
