During this last part of your cycle tour you will pass one of the most special places in the area: Ruurlo castle and estate. The country estate was mentioned as early as 1326 and has been in the hands of the Dutch noble Van Heeckeren family since the fifteenth century. The building consists of many different architectural styles because the castle has been almost constantly built over the years and centuries. For example, part of a medieval wall still exists in the basement and almost the entire left side of the castle was built in the sixteenth century. The tower at the back was added a century later. One wall in this tower was fitted with new gables in the nineteenth century. For a long time the castle was the location for the television series 'de Zevensprong'. Nowadays the castle is regularly used as a wedding location.
After just over 10 KM you arrive at the Lebbenbrugge Farm Museum. Here you can take a journey through time and see what agriculture was like in the past. It is very nice to see what rural life was like a few centuries ago, especially when you compare it with the modern techniques of today's farmers. Ice Farm't Dommerholt started small in 1999. The Ice Farm is located in Borculo in the Achterhoek. The artisanal ice cream was initially sold from a freezer in small containers instead of cones, because the space was too small to actually scoop ice cream. A few years later it expanded, but the demand for ice cream continued to grow. Since May 2006, the ice cream has been sold from a new, large ice cream parlor. If you are cycling or walking in the area, you should definitely stop by this ice cream farm. What could be better than a break with a homemade ice cream? The choice is large at't Dommerholt. Choose from different flavors of farm ice cream, sorbet ice cream and frozen yogurt. You can also find delicious regional products here. When the weather is nice you can take a seat on the terrace, but also when it rains you can visit the ice cream farm. Then you can sit on the covered terrace or inside the ice cream parlor.

Ruurlo Castle, Museum MORE's second location, is now open to the public. The life and work of grandmaster Carel Willink is central to the castle. The set-up shows the development of a searching artist who later manages to develop as an unparalleled painter. In addition to 45 works by Carel Willink, five special creations by fashion designer Fong Leng are also on display. Are you planning to visit Museum MORE?
