The Oosterschelde is the starting point of this beautiful route across Schouwen-Duiveland, a varied tour full of fresh air. Being on the water immediately puts you in a holiday mood. First you drive through the beautiful ring village of Burgh, further on you pass the centuries-old Haamstede Castle. You cycle through the Vroongronden nature reserve to Renesse, a pleasant seaside resort with a rich history. Around the ring you will see some beautiful old buildings. Get off here for a break at De Zeeuwse Stromen, beautifully situated in the dunes of Renesse! You pass through the picturesque Brouwershaven, where you can take a look at the bustling harbor. Then you drive through the Prunjepolder and the Schelphoek: two beautiful nature reserves near Serooskerke. The Plompetoren is the last attraction, from the top you have a beautiful view.

t Oliegeultje is located next to the port of Burghsluis and is part of the Water Sports Association. In clear weather you can see the sandbanks on the other side from the terrace. The porpoises regularly swim by and the seals are resting on the Roggeplaat. The terrace is the ideal place to relax. Glass all around, pleasant chairs and above your head, if necessary, 70 square meters of sun protection. Reason for cycling is the unique location! A nice place for coffee, lunch or dinner.

Opposite the church, in the middle of the village of Haamstede, is Slot Haamstede. The oldest part of the current castle dates from the 13th century. The other parts were added in the following centuries. Traces of the Romans and Normans have even been found on the castle island! Now the castle and the accompanying estate are owned by Natuurmonumenten. The lock is normally closed to visitors. You can view it during Heritage Days. You can also take a guided walk around the estate.
