Description

Axel is a nice authentic town in Zeeuws-Vlaanderen. You can pay a visit to Het Land van Axel Streekmuseum. This museum highlights the history of Axel, with the interior of a farmhouse room and farmhouse kitchen from 1880 and a unique collection of Axel traditional costumes. Corn mill The Stadsmolen in Axel is a round brick mill from 1750. It is built on a bastion and therefore towers beautifully above the surroundings. The Axelse creek is one of the largest creeks in Zeeuws-Vlaanderen: a remnant of a large channel that flowed from the Western Scheldt and also flowed into it via the Hellegat. In Spui you cycle past the Eben Haezer mill, a round stone mill from 1807.
