Once every 3 years, the NK Cycling is held in Twente, a week before the start of the world's largest sporting event, the Tour de France. Would you like to measure your strength on a course that has actually been used by professional cyclists, then cycle this route! The open, rolling landscape and the hilly surroundings around the town of Ootmarsum are ideal for holding the Dutch road championships for the highest categories of road cyclists. The course leads over the medieval cobblestones in the historic center and through the beautiful bocage landscape around the town of Ootmarsum. The ash landscape of Northeast Twente attracts many cycling enthusiasts every year who take part in the numerous tours here. You can also train here very well - our own pride Hennie Kuiper did that too. The slopes provide a real challenge, very nice if you want to get a taste of professional cycling. You even cross the Kuiperberg! Visit the VVV in Ootmarsum for more information about this beautiful area! In Ootmarsum, for example, you will find a nice open-air museum and plenty of nice terraces and shops - plenty to do after your bike ride.
