Description

Beautiful fields color the surroundings of Noordwijk, a region where many flower bulb growers grow their flowers. The color festival is heralded by the blooming of crocuses and the beautiful colors of different types of tulips, daffodils and hyacinths continue quickly afterwards. In late summer, gladioli, dahlias, carnations and asters provide a second beautiful sea of flowers. You first pass Hof van Hillegom. Originally a fifteenth-century country estate, the building now serves as the town hall. You will pass the Keukenhof Estate, where you can also visit the seventeenth-century Keukenhof Castle. Then you drive for miles along the Amsterdam Water Supply Dunes. Via Zandvoort you cross to the country estates below Heemstede. Take the Leyduin estate, for example, once used as a summer residence by prominent families.
