Cultural history along the IJssel

Along the IJssel you will find beautiful nature and old towns with plenty of sights to see. First you drive to Engelenburg Castle, an estate whose history dates back to the Middle Ages. Further on you drive past Klein Engelenburg, a country estate from 1912. You also pass the Résidence Louise facility. You cross the IJssel on a ferry, so keep some small change on hand for the crossing. It is wonderful to travel for miles along the river. You enjoy the silence and nature. Doesburg is an old Hanseatic city. The historic center with its countless monuments is a unique attraction. On the other side of the water you pass through Dieren. You will see many monumental villas here. The route ends with a snack and drink at Restaurant De Luchte.
