Description

This cycling route along windmills in the authentic Hoeksche Waard starts at the De Hoop flour mill from 1822. Originally built as a ground sailor, the mill was increased into a tower mill around 1870. The mill can be visited on Saturdays. The Antony mill from 1749 drained the polder until 1957. With a flight distance of 28.6 meters, the ground sailor is still ready as a reserve pumping station. In Westmaas there is the Windlust mill, which was closed down in 2006 due to disrepair and has since been completely restored. The round stone mill was built in 1853 and milled grain for almost a hundred years. Now the mill is open regularly.
