Cycling around Baarle-Nassau and Baarle-Hertog

You'll cycle past fields, meadows, and old thatched farmhouses. You'll also pass through charming villages like Ulicoten and Chaam. Then you'll cycle through the Chaam Forests. This was once a rugged area with sand drifts and wet heathland, but between 1900 and 1935 the area was reclaimed. Now you cycle through a fragrant coniferous forest. At junction 70, you'll join the Bels Lijntje: a beautiful cycle path on the former railway line between Turnhout and Tilburg. Further on, you'll cross the border and cycle a rural circuit around Ravels. How wonderfully peaceful it is here! No wonder this region was a hotspot for smuggling until the 1960s.
