Description
This cycle route takes you through a beautiful medieval landscape full of culture and nature in Groningen. The area is only separated from the Wadden area by dikes, which were built in the 11th century. In the past, the water could just come and go here, which created elevations in the landscape. After the construction of dikes, people build their lives here. Pay a visit to these wierde villages with 13th-century churches and church towers and get to know the interesting history.
