Description
This cycling route takes you through a beautiful medieval landscape full of culture and nature in Groningen. The area is only separated from the Wadden area by dikes, which were constructed in the 11th century. In the past, water could just come and go here, creating elevations in the landscape. After the construction of dikes, people build their lives here. Visit these mound villages with 13th-century churches and church towers and get acquainted with their interesting history.
