Get on the saddle for a trip through Gouda and along the Reeuwijkse Plassen. You ride your legs loose in the polders under Driebruggen. Then you cycle a bit along the Hollandse IJssel. You pass through Haastrecht, a picturesque village. After a while you cross the river and you end up in the historic heart of Gouda. Feel free to get off to enjoy the beautiful monumental buildings on the harbor and on the Markt. Just above Reeuwijk you cycle through the Reeuwijkse Hout, a humid forest area. The Reeuwijkse Plassen were created in the eighteenth century by peat extraction. The peat was used by, among others, Gouda beer brewers. Now you will find a landscape of water, wood quays and reed beds. The route ends at Café Custwijc.
