This beautiful large tour from Bergen op Zoom takes you through the green areas east of Bergen op Zoom: De Heide recreation area and Zoomland Estate. The avenues and hedgerows are home to cave nesters such as the nuthatch and tawny owl. And if you take a look at dusk, you can see bats fluttering there. You cross the Brabantse Wal: you can clearly see the difference in height. This steep edge forms the sudden transition between the high-lying Brabant sandy soils on the east side and the low-lying marine clay area of the Scheldt in the west. You drive back straight through Bergen op Zoom, a city with a rich history.

Orangerie Mattemburgh

Antwerpsestraatweg 181

The Orangerie was originally a greenhouse in which unique tub plants used to hibernate. This greenhouse was completely transformed into a full-fledged, attractive restaurant. Connecting to the inner garden was therefore a must in the new construction plans. This is how the open kitchen concept was created: outside was brought inside. With the renewed Orangerie, owners Frank and Marloes are going all the way back to their roots. They grow their own products on the estate, forget vegetables, fruit, herbs and exotics. This is how the Edible Estate was created. Handy: there are charging points for your electric bicycle at Orangerie Mattemburgh!
