This beautiful large tour from Bergen op Zoom takes you through the green areas to the east of Bergen op Zoom: recreation area De Heide and Landgoed Zoomland. Cave breeders such as the nuthatch and tawny owl live in the avenues and hedgerows. And if you take a look at dusk, you can see bats fluttering. You cross the Brabantse Wal: you can clearly see the height difference. This steep edge forms the sudden transition between the high-lying Brabant sandy soils on the east side and the low-lying sea clay area of the Scheldt in the west. You drive back straight through Bergen op Zoom, a city with a rich history.

Orangerie Mattemburgh

Antwerpsestraatweg 181

The Orangerie was originally a greenhouse in which unique container plants used to overwinter. This greenhouse was completely transformed into a fully-fledged, atmospheric restaurant. Connecting to the inner garden was therefore a must in the new construction plans. This is how the open kitchen concept was born: the outside was brought in. With the renewed Orangerie, owners Frank and Marloes are going back to their roots. They grow their own products on the estate, forgetting vegetables, fruit, herbs and exotics. This is how the Edible Estate was created. Frank and Marloes consider themselves lucky: they not only work there, but also wake up every morning at the pearl of the Brabantse Wal, Landgoed Mattemburgh. Handy: there are charging points for your electric bicycle at Orangerie Mattemburgh.
