Enjoy cycling along the lapping water of the Western Scheldt and through a vast polder landscape full of natural beauty. This is possible with this route through Zeeuws-Vlaanderen. The first part of this route you drive west along the Western Scheldt. You cycle a bit through the Braakman recreational area. At junction 14 is the Landing Monument to commemorate the fact that a Canadian battalion landed here on October 9, 1944 during the Battle of the Scheldt. You enter the polder via Breskens. Get some fresh air and enjoy the peace and quiet. Biervliet is a picturesque village. Here you will see an old town hall and De Harmonie flour mill from 1842. The Reformed Church dates from 1659 and contains a number of seventeenth-century stained glass windows. After getting off, you can enjoy a cozy terrace at Taste Churchill .
