Discover the Brabant hospitality and the beautiful, wooded surroundings of this cycling route from Den Bosch to the Loonse and Drunense Duinen.
This cycling route of more than 50 kilometers starts at Eetcafé De Klinkert in Drunen. A typical Brabant, cozy, brown café where you can enjoy the Brabant geniality, hospitality and of course: sausage bread. The terrace is located in the middle of the Drunense Duinen: a great place to start or end your bike ride.
Along Drunen and Den Bosch
During this route you pass under small Brabant villages. You cycle northwards via the canal in the direction of Drunen. Then you pass Nieuwkuijk and Vlijmen. From Den Bosch you cycle for quite some time along the canal, where you have a beautiful view over the polder landscape. Along the De IJzeren Man natural pool in Vught you cycle through the vast landscape back to National Park De Loonse en Drunense Duinen.
Loonse and Drunense Dunes
The cycle route ends in De Loonse en Drunense Duinen National Park. A special nature reserve: it is a kind of desert in the Netherlands. On one of the most extensive shifting sand areas in Western Europe, you will find sand-root beetles and plants that can withstand extreme temperature differences. You will find the tracks of countless animals in the area: from the viviparous lizard to the roe deer. You can encounter a shepherd on the moor with his grazing flock. The route stops again at Eetcafé De Klinkert.
