Saint Gerlach
Amby is a beautiful old quarter of Maastricht. You can eat a tasty meal on the cozy terrace of Hof van Huntjens, so that you can drive into the hills with enough energy. The Geulhemermolen is one of the many beautiful buildings on your route, it dates from 1768. Further on is the Sint-Gerlachuskerk, the adjacent monastery was converted into a castle in the nineteenth century. Valkenburg Castle is a beautiful ruin, you can climb it for a magnificent view.

At the Geul you will pass Schaloen Castle: a fairytale-like castle. You can also admire an old mill here. It is wonderful to cycle through the hills. One village is even more beautiful than the other. In Wijlre you will pass the old Mill of Otten and a castle. Via Margraten and Sint Geertruid you drive to the Maas. You enter Maastricht along the riverbank, passing through the well-known district of Céramique.
