Description

First you drive through Koudekerke, with the Michaelskerk from the seventeenth century. You then cycle through the varied nature on the coast of Walcheren. You drive through deciduous forest and dunes, and further on you pass through the Nollebos: a nature reserve that was created in the 1930s on the site of the former Fort De Nolle. There is much to see on the boulevard of Vlissingen, such as the 85-metre-high Sardijntoren and the striking white national monument from 1903 by Maritime Institute de Ruyter. On the other side you look out over the beach, the North Sea and the coastline of Zeeuws-Vlaanderen. In Oost-Souburg you will pass De Pere, a flour mill from 1725.
