Tour of Leende and Asten over the Stabrechtse heath

From Maarheeze you cycle to Heeze Castle, one of the last inhabited castles in the Netherlands. The current castle is a stately building from 1665, moated on three sides and designed by Pieter Post. Behind this castle is an older building: a remnant of the old Eymerick Castle from the 15th century. The castle is open for guided tours. The Stabrechtse heath, a little further away, is one of the largest nature reserves in the country with its 1,500 hectares. You also drive through the center of Asten and along the edge of De Groote Peel National Park.
