Description
There are some beautiful nature reserves just below Breda. This cycling route takes you through the centuries-old Mastbos, through the Markdal and over the Strijbeekse Heide.
St. Jacob's Chapel This forest dates from the sixteenth century. You will see stately beech avenues, but also conifers. It is wonderfully quiet to drive here. In Galder you can view the St. Jacob's Chapel. This originally dates from 1468. You can also see some authentic farms in and around this village.
Bouvigne Castle You cross the Mark, after which you drive onto the Strijbeekse Heide. Here you will find a beautiful mix of fragrant conifers, fens and heathland. Then you cycle a few kilometers through the Markdal. Get a breath of fresh air while looking out over the rippling water and unspoilt nature. What an idyllic landscape. Bouvigne Castle is a centuries-old hunting lodge that is surrounded by a moat.
