Cycling route: 137639
Provided by: Groots Genieten
In the commuter town of Huissen you will find a surprisingly new centre with a number of beautiful old houses. Further on you cycle through the Rijkerswoerdse Plassen, which are part of Park Lingezegen. Via Elst you cycle to Bemmel, where you can take a look at De Kinkelenburg: part of the country house is a reminder of its fifteenth-century origins as a donjon. A little later you cycle onto the Waaldijk: from this road you can look out over many kilometres of orchards and floodplains. Fort Pannerden, a little further on, was built from 1869 to 1871 to guard the fork in the Rhine and the Waal. Doornenburg Castle is also worth a visit.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
