The Bergherbos is a hilly forest on a moraine between Doetinchem, Didam and 's-Heerenberg. Due to the high location of this area, you can see the forest emerging on the horizon from a distance. Around the village you will find small church villages, fields and meadows.

This route takes you straight through the Bergherbos. This forest is the habitat of more than 70 different bird species, including the buzzard and the hawk. Deer and badgers are also common animals in this area. The observant plant lover will recognize the swamp and forest violet, the wood anemone, bracken and marsh marigold in this area. You will also explore the beautiful banks of the Rhine along the way. This is one of the longest rivers that makes its way through Europe to the sea. Along the way you can also take a look at Havezate Camphuysen and Huis Aerdt.
