Description
Blerick is located to the left of the Maas and is considered a district of Venlo. This route takes you through Blerick and some beautiful forests just outside this part of the city.
Crayelheide
From the bridge you have a beautiful panorama of the surroundings. You drive past the Maashofpark to Boekend, a charming village. Then you cycle through the Crayelheide. This nature reserve consists of a mosaic of hedgerows, grasslands, forest and stream valley.
Maasbree
Then you drive a bit through the rural area around Maasbree. Here you cycle between fields, grasslands and stream valleys. In Maasbree you pass the Sint-Aldegondis Church, which originally dates from the fifteenth century, but has been renovated several times. Further on you drive through Dubbroek, a nature reserve in an old Meuse bed. Here you see ash, pedunculate oak and black alder. Around junction 59 you seem to cycle back in time thanks to some beautiful old farms.
