Tour of Gemert and nature around Veghel

Your cycle route starts at Herberg de Brabantse Kluis, a beautiful rural location on the edge of the beautiful nature reserve De Biezen. This route takes you past Brabant villages such as Gemert with its castle, but you will also discover beautiful nature reserves. The landscape around Veghel is characterised by the 'plucks' of greenery that are everywhere and that divide the landscape into small pieces: rows of trees, hedgerows, copses and farmyard plantings. An important green connecting artery in the landscape is the river Aa. Animals and plants can migrate between the fragmented green strips via the stream valley along the Aa. North of Boerdonk you will pass through Het Hurkske, a forest area with fens. The small villages of Keldonk, Boerdonk and Esdonk are located on cover sand ridges, to which the addition 'donk' also refers.
