Your route starts at Duinhotel Breezand. In the western part of Zeeland you can enjoy the vastness of the province while cycling through the landscape. You can see the North Sea, the Veerse Meer and the imposing Delta Works. You have the best view from the bike! The construction of the Delta Works started in 1958. Never again should a flood disaster like the one in 1953 occur. An additional advantage was that this also opened up Walcheren to the rest of the Netherlands; the accessibility of the area, where agriculture is mainly practiced, improved considerably. Along the twenty-two kilometer long Veerse Meer, you can enjoy picturesque villages, old mills and the cozy Veere. Windmill De Koe is used to grind corn and is still able to grind.
