Heinkenszand, Nisse and 's-Heerenhoek

Your route starts in Nieuwdorp. You cycle through the Zeeland countryside to Lewedorp. Polder Het Oudeland originated as a reclaimed sandbank and was later expanded with, among other things, the polders Het Oosterland and the Oosterguite. A cluster of five polders eventually created the island of Heinkenszand, which is surrounded by mudflats and shoals. The small scale of Zeeland life is charming, the sights beautiful. The village still has only a few hundred inhabitants, but tourists now know their way to the village. On the way, stop off at Schaapskooi Zeeland! Here you cycle over the Bloemdijken van Zuid-Beveland are dikes around polders and former tidal creeks. Experience the summery scents and colours of agrimoni, potato field or wild marjoram. Sheep often roam around here too!
