The Leusderheide is located in the heart of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug. Because it is also used as a military training area, the Leusderheide has retained a large part of its original appearance. Extensive heathlands and open sandy plains alternate with deciduous and coniferous forests. The area is rich in many country estates, where richer merchants had luxurious houses built. In the town of Maarn, for example, there is Landgoed t Stort. A beautiful house located in a park of 12 hectares. The Bornia Estate in Driebergen is also special.
