Tour of Engbertsdijksvenen, De Eeshof and De Wijnmakers

In Overijssel lies the thousand-hectare nature reserve Engbertsdijksvenen. Extensive peat bogs with fens and heather vegetation form a remnant of a much larger peat bog that used to cover the northeast of the Netherlands. It is one of the few places in our country where you can still find active raised bogs and the area is therefore of great natural value. Along the way you can learn more about the area in the Veenmuseum Het Vriezenveense Veld, but also very special is De Eeshof Castle, which the bike ride will take you past. The oldest part of the beautiful house in Tubbergen dates from the eighteenth century. Stop off at Restaurant Vinck for a bite to eat - or experience a wine tasting in our sustainable vineyard!
