Tour of Kootwijkerbroek, Garderen and Voorthuizen

Your cycle route starts at Holiday Park Ackersate. From here you cycle through the woods to Klein Boeschoten, a private estate. Here you can still see the original set-up of the medieval game forsters estate. Soon you reach the Houtdorperveld, one of the largest heaths in the Netherlands. You enjoy beautiful views. The heathland is at its most beautiful in the summer, when the purple flowers appear, turning the field into a purple sea in one fell swoop! You cycle across the Veluwe through three sheepfolds. You will also pass Radio Kootwijk. Due to its cultural-historical value, the area around the former transmitter and the associated hamlet is a protected village view. War memorial Radio Kootwijk recalls the time when the Germans occupied the radio station during the Second World War.
