From Heeze Castle you can drive straight into the Strabrechtse Heide. In the adjacent Molenheide nature reserve you cycle through a nice, fresh-smelling coniferous forest towards Geldrop. Here too you will see an old and imposing castle. It is surrounded by a nineteenth-century landscape park. In the valley of the Kleine Dommel you pass the seventeenth-century Collse Mill, which was painted in 1884 by Vincent van Gogh. In Nuenen you make a pit stop on the cozy terrace of Comigo Lunchroom & Restaurant, after which you cycle past the Van Gogh Church from 1824. You drive to Helmond via the Papenvoortse Heide. South of this town you drive through the Groot Goor: a nature reserve with reedlands and an old and varied moist forest. You cycle back to Heeze Castle through the Strabrechtse Heide.

Comigo is a Brazilian oriented restaurant in Nuenen. During the day you can enjoy a delicious breakfast, an extensive lunch or a nice drink. You can sit inside in the cozy restaurant, in the conservatory or outside on the terrace that overlooks the park of Nuenen. In the evening from about five o'clock you can come here for a unique Brazilian BBQ. Comigo also has an a la carte menu with burgers, spare ribs and salads.

Kasteel Heeze


5591HJ Heeze-Leende

During the war, the municipal population register was regularly stored safely in the castle. As a result, it was also preserved when the resistance in a robbery set fire to the town hall of Heeze in September 1943, see also point 25 below. Because Heeze had no town hall at the time, the castle was also used as such for a short time.

Kasteel Geldrop

Geldrop Castle is a castle from 1350 and is located right in the center. It is located in the valley of the locally busy meandering Kleine Dommel. The beautiful English landscape gardens surround the castle. It houses a petting zoo, an active IVN in the former coach house and the beautiful flower garden De Baron z? N Hof.

This double base watermill dates from the seventeenth century. The mill appeared in about 1884 in a painting by Vincent van Gogh. This painting served as an example for restorations of the mill.

The Reformed Church in Nuenen is popularly called the Van Gogh Church. When his mother was bedridden for a while, Vincent made a beautiful painting of this church. The nice thing is that the surroundings of the church have hardly changed. You can still recognize the atmosphere of the famous painting.
