Boxtel is a beautiful village, ideal to explore by bicycle. In the countryside you drive through the characteristic Brabant countryside. That means a lot of nature: this route takes you through De Brand and De Kampina.
Castle Stacking
You will see beautiful old buildings here, you will also pass Kasteel Stapelen. Originally the castle dates from the thirteenth century, but it was heavily renovated in the nineteenth century. In the village of Esch you see some characteristic long-gabled farms, just below Vught you drive through Landgoed Jagershagen. Take a short trip to Zwijnsbergen Castle, a privately owned country house.
The fire
After cycling along the edge of the Loonse & Drunense Duinen National Park, you will cycle from node 35 through De Brand, a small-scale landscape with ancient forests and small flowery meadows. In Haaren you will see, in addition to many old farms, the Old Tower from 1427. A little further on you will pass Nemerlaer Castle, which was built in the thirteenth century.
