Boxtel is a beautiful village, ideal for exploring by bike. In the countryside you drive through the characteristic Brabant country. That means a lot of nature: this route takes you through De Brand and De Kampina.

Stacking Castle
You will see beautiful old buildings here, and you will also pass Stapelen Castle. The castle originally dates from the thirteenth century, but was extensively renovated in the nineteenth century. In the village of Esch you will see some characteristic long-fronted farms, just below Vught you will drive through the Jagershagen Estate. You take a trip to Zwijnsbergen Castle, a privately owned country house.

The fire
After cycling along the edge of the Loonse & Drunense Duinen National Park, you drive from junction 35 through De Brand, a small-scale landscape with ancient forests and small flowery meadows. In Haaren you will see not only many old farms, but also the Old Tower from 1427. A little further on you will pass Nemerlaer Castle, which was built in the thirteenth century.

Stapelen


5281EJ Boxtel

Located in Boxtel and the oldest mention dates back to 1293. Since 1915 the castle has been used as a monastery by the Assumptionists.

Kasteel Zwijnsbergen

Zwijnsbergen was founded around 1552 as a simple house with a canal around it. The cellars of Zwijnsbergen form the oldest part of the castle with their rib and barrel vaults.

Kasteel Nemerlaer


5076RE Haaren

This castle dates back to the 14th century. It is named after the river Amer and Laer. The castle is still inhabited today.
