Boxtel is a beautiful village, ideal to explore by bike. In the countryside you ride through the characteristic Brabant countryside. That means a lot of nature: this route takes you through De Brand and De Kampina.
Stacking Castle
You will see beautiful old buildings here, and you will also pass Kasteel Stapelen. The castle originally dates from the thirteenth century, but it was extensively renovated in the nineteenth century. In the village of Esch you will see some characteristic long-façade farms, just below Vught you will drive through Landgoed Jagershagen. You will make a short trip to Kasteel Zwijnsbergen, a privately owned country house.
The Fire
After cycling along the edge of the Loonse & Drunense Duinen National Park, you will cycle from junction 35 through De Brand, a small-scale landscape with ancient forests and small flowery meadows. In Haaren, you will see many old farms as well as the Oude Toren from 1427. A little further on, you will pass Kasteel Nemerlaer, which was built in the thirteenth century.
