A tour of the woods near Bergen op Zoom

Your route starts at Het Strandhuys. In the picturesque center of Bergen op Zoom you can see the fourteenth-century Gevangenpoort. Through a varied backdrop of green suburbs, forests, meadows and fields you drive via Halsteren towards Roosendaal. On the edge of the village of Wouw you pass De Arend, a beautiful flour mill from 1825. You cycle a bit through the woods of Landgoed De Wouwse Plantage, one of the most beautiful nature reserves in the Netherlands. You will see beautiful old deciduous trees, but also Scots pines. On the edge of Huijbergen you pass the Johanna, a flour mill from 1862. Gradually you cycle up the Brabantse Wal. After Hoogerheide you drive into the woods of Landgoed Mattemburgh. How quiet it is here! You can visit the De Kraaijenberg visitor center at the Markiezaatsmeer.
