Tour of the forests near Bergen op Zoom

Your route starts at Het Strandhuys. In the picturesque centre of Bergen op Zoom you will see the fourteenth-century Gevangenpoort. Through a varied decor of green suburbs, forests, meadows and fields you cycle via Halsteren towards Roosendaal. On the edge of the village of Wouw you pass De Arend, a beautiful corn mill from 1825. You cycle a bit through the forests of Landgoed De Wouwse Plantage, one of the most beautiful nature reserves in the Netherlands. You will see beautiful old deciduous trees, but also Scots pines. On the edge of Huijbergen you will pass the Johanna, a corn mill from 1862. You gradually cycle up the Brabantse Wal. After Hoogerheide you cycle into the forests of Landgoed Mattemburgh. How quiet it is here! At the Markiezaatsmeer you can visit the De Kraaijenberg visitor centre.
