Tour of Moordrecht, Gouda and the Reeuwijkse plassen

From your starting point you first cycle to Haastrecht for a cup of coffee at Het Witte Hof. You cycle from village to village through the polder landscape until you cross Gouda. Gouda has an attractive, historic center with a canal system and 330 national monuments. The fifteenth-century town hall is one of the oldest Gothic town halls in the Netherlands. St. John's Church, which was built in the same style and century, is also a beautiful monument. Then you cross the Reeuwijkse Plassen. As you cycle along channels, gorges and canals through a vast area, you will see cuckoo and pink flower growing on the banks and in the fields. Grass snakes feel at their best near the water and many birds breed around the Reeuwijkse Plassen: the nightingale and the wood warbler, but also the reed warbler and the chiffchaff.
