Living with the sea
On one side of the Schoorlse Duinen you have a beautiful view of the North Sea, while on the other side you look out on a vast landscape full of fields and forests. From the Duinen you cycle along the edge of the artists' village of Bergen. Visit Museum Kranenburgh to admire the work of artists from the village. A little further on you will find the Coastal Information Center or Schoorlse Duinen Outdoor Center. Here you can view exhibitions about life on and with the sea and the surrounding nature. There is also plenty to do for children here.

Dune entertainment
The start and end point of the route is the pancake restaurant and pizzeria Duinvermaak. Here you can relax after a day full of activities while enjoying a tasty pancake or pizza. More in the mood for a drink? You can also go here for a cup of coffee, a beer or something else. In the meantime, children can enjoy themselves in the associated playground.

Informatiecentrum Kust

Strandweg 4
1755 LA Schagen

In this information center you will find the interactive exhibition 'Sand against the Sea'. Here you can see, hear and experience how the coast between Petten and Camperduin has been reinforced with a lot of sand: about 35 million cubic meters. You will also learn more about the dikes in North Holland. How is water management now, for example, and what is still planned for the future? And does climate change have a major impact on water management? You will find out all about it here. Over the centuries there have been many flood disasters in this area. For example, the flood during the All Saints' Flood in 1570 killed 20,000 people. Today, the water in this region is under control, but a lot has to be done to achieve this. This exhibition is also interesting for children because there are all kinds of interactive things to do. You can visit the information center between 1 April and 1 November on Tuesdays to Sundays between 10 am and 4 pm. From November 1 to April 1, the center is open on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays between 10:00 and 16:00. Entrance is free.
