A tour of Culemborg

It is wonderful to cycle around Culemborg through the wide polders and the dikes along the Lek. You will also see many sights there, just like in the heart of Culemborg.

Lekdijk
What immediately stands out: the natural beauty and tranquility. You drive through Culemborg through a leafy street, after which you cycle on car-free roads through the polders. On the Diefdijk you will see some bunkers from the Second World War, further along are the old fortifications of Fort Everdingen and Werk aan het Spoel. From the dike you look out over the flowery floodplains and the Lek.

Culemborg Castle
A little later you drive into the heart of Culemborg. What a beautifully preserved old town you will find here! Especially at the market, you will see one centuries-old monumental building after another, such as the Town Hall from 1539. At Brasserie het Kasteeltje you can stop for a moment and have a nice terrace before driving to the ruins of Culemborg Castle. The medieval castle was demolished during the eighteenth century.
