Your route starts at De Stiftsjuffer. The first sight on the route is the house de Eeshof in Tubbergen. The lower part dates back to the eighteenth century: the construction date, 1719, is written above the door. Then you pass the Molen van Bels. This overshot watermill was built in 1725 as a corn and paper mill. Nowadays, the mill houses a restaurant and tea room. The Molen van Frans is also an overshot watermill. Just north of Ootmarsum lies the nature reserve het Springendal. The area covers approximately 355 hectares and is known for its springs, streams, hills and burial mounds. One of the first churches in Twente was built in Ootmarsum around 770. In the Middle Ages, trade in Ootmarsum flourished due to its favourable location.
