This varied route takes you through the Maas valley in North Limburg. You drive along the banks of the river, through historic church villages and through the Heldense Bossen.

Heroic Forests
From the banks of the Maas you have beautiful views over the water. Occasionally you see a church tower looming on the other side of the river. Especially from the Musschenberg just above Neer you have a beautiful view over the Maas valley. In the Heldense Bossen you drive through a mosaic of pine forests, small-scale arable land, fens and small heaths. You can fully enjoy the silence here.

Limburg pearls
In Steyl you drive through the old village center. You can see some beautiful monuments here, such as a villa built in Jugendstil and the Sint Michaël Mission House from 1875. In Baarlo you can take a break in the historic heart on the cozy terrace of Central Baarlo. On the Neerbeek you will pass the monumental Friedesse Molen, a water mill that was built in 1717 for grinding corn. What a picture! At Landal De Lommerbergen you can continue to enjoy Limburg life.

Historic Ronkenstein
At node 99 you pass through Ronkenstein where you take a step back in time. This hamlet enjoys a protected village view because of its eighteenth-century appearance. You will see some characteristic farms, on the Schelkensbeek is the former water mill that now functions as a residence. Do you want to cycle through North Limburg again?
